01

Hi! My name is Marya Nguyen and I’m a Squarespace Web Designer based in Saint Louis, USA.

02

Outside work you will often find me taking a long walk in the park 🌱 It’s my reset button: fresh air, movement, and a break from screens. Some of my best ideas happen when I’m not trying too hard to find them.

03

But on a typical workday, I am usually posted up at my favorite local coffee shop with my laptop and a strong cup of something warm (americanos or matcha!).

04

My day usually starts with a gym session to get my body moving and my mind clear. It’s become a ritual that sets the tone for everything else.

05

Most of the time I am working on bringing ideas to life, mine and my clients’. I'm constantly building, dreaming, and shaping things that didn’t exist before.

06

What are your first memories of the Internet?

Neopets, anyone? I still remember that dial-up modem sound and the thrill of sneaking onto Limewire to download songs. It felt like this whole world tucked inside a screen.

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

The creative inspo! I’ve always loved finding unexpected inspiration, whether from a museum visit, a painting session, or listening to music and translating that into a digital experience. Web design lets me blend storytelling and problem-solving in a way that feels really intuitive and fun.

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

When I need a break mid-project, I usually pop on a podcast, call my sister, or numb-scroll on Instagram. Stepping away helps me come back with new eyes.

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Editorial. Playful. Maximalist

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

I love any workshop that lets me bring content to life like the fluid tabs, scrolling interactions, animations, you name it.

11

What makes your work standout?

Clients often say I get them. I don’t just build a website, I help bring their big, sometimes fuzzy, digital vision into focus. It's a true creative partnership grounded in strategy and design. Beyond aesthetics, I’m there to help shape their story.

12

What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?

Yangu Web Studio (my own site!)Website →As any creative knows, building for yourself is often the hardest challenge. This version pushed me to confront creative blocks and rethink what I wanted to say and show.

To bring it to life, I leaned on various workshops like sticky sections, horizontal scrolling, pop-out menus, and the creative blog layouts.

One big lesson: clarity comes from stepping back. Once I decided what mattered most, I let that guide the hierarchy and then finally stopped tweaking and hit publish.

13

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

Invest in your dreams (& tools). The right people will show up and help you grow along the way.

14

What is your dream website project?

Honestly, I’m already living it. Every time I get to collaborate with someone at that pivotal “next chapter” moment in their business, it feels like a dream. The excitement, the ideas, the momentum—I love it all.
